Ambra are big believers in the value of keeping fit, and promote healthy lifestyle opportunities for their employees. They recognised that British Airways Run Gatwick is the perfect event to challenge themselves and stay healthy. Even the busiest business people have time to train for the corporate 5k! Studies have long proven the value of exercise for both mental and physical health. Wellness works best when it’s shared through common goals and competition and the employees are excited about the challenge.
Best foot forward from Team Ambra
Their 10 person team has runners of all experience, just like you’ll find across the three races at British Airways Run Gatwick. Ambra’s team are taking part in the Half Marathon, Corporate 5k and Family Run to raise money, have fun and as a motivation to get fit together. They’ll also volunteer as part of our 300-strong Racemaking team at the event.
Meet the Ambra team
Two of their team tell us more about why they’re taking on the challenge:
Mike (1/2 marathon) – “I enjoy keeping fit and love the buzz of running. Run Gatwick is an ideal goal to train for through the winter months and will push me to the limit on race day.”
Kangne (5k) – “Distance running is new to me but I’m keen to do something a little different from my normal gym routine. It’s fun training for the event with my workmates and great to feel you’re helping good causes, raising money for charity.”
As experts all agree, it’s important to have a schedule. Each of the team members will follow an individual training plan, ranging from couch to 5k, to advanced half marathon regimes. They’ll also be joining the Run Gatwick team at their free weekly training run sessions in Manor Royal.
Helping others … Ambra runs for Oliver’s Wish
For Ambra, this corporate challenge is a fantastic opportunity to raise funds for their favourite cause, Oliver’s Wish, who champion charities that support babies, children and young people.
